I love the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Cons. Here are a few pictures from those I've attended.
Lighting Bear is a stuntman who appeared as a storm trooper in Star Wars: A New Hope and as an Endorian scout in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (and a bunch of stunts from other movies too numerous to mention). He sat across from me at OmegaCon.
While I pimped my book, A Prophecy Forgotten, my mom got to mingle with the stars, including Peter Mayhew.
Larry sat across from me at OmegaCon, and he and I did a picture/book exchange.
Richard played the memorable Admiral Motti on Star Wars: A New Hope. We all have his lines memoried: "This battle station is the ultimate power in the universe. I suggest we use it." And then Vader chocked him using the force.
I met Jonathan & Rebekah (on each side of me) the first day of OmegaCon, and it felt like I knew them all my life! (They brought their friends to the con as well.)
Listening intently to instructions. This is all research for future fantasy novels!
Check out more about Stuart Clark and his new book, Project ULF, at www.stuartclark.net.
Two new friends whom I met at BabelCon a month earlier. They helped me out so much, from taking me out to eat to carrying my books. What amazing people!
This was the best costume I sall the whole weekend: Daniel Laruso and the Kobra Kai's. Brought back the memories fo watching Karate Kid over and over again.
This is the granddaughter of a teacher in Naples who had read A Prophecy Forgotten, loved it, and let me come speak to his classroom. His daughter just happened to be at DragonCon with this little girl. They were already fans, so we took some pictures.
This young boy bought A Prophecy Forgotten at the beginning of DragonCon. The last day of the con, he rushed to my booth and told me it was one of the best books he had ever read--he had read most of the book in only a few days!
My map artist, Hannah, just happened to be at DragonCon. Neither of us had any idea the other was there until Hannah's husband husband spotted A Prophecy Forgotten's poster.
Afte.r the parade, Sandy and I returned to the dealer floor and continued to sell books.
My friend Rachel dressed up as Gabriella as well, and helped me distribute literature and candy to the parade onlookers.
Author Sandy Lender (www.todaythedragonwins.blogspot.com) and I are posing in our costume, ready to promote our books. Notice the black breastplate I am wearing. It's the same breastplate as in the first picture, just trimmed down and painted black.
This man was one of the scientists who gave one of the many discussions on science. (Duh!) Here, we are talking about why he doesn't read fiction.
I always want to look great for the camera. When Randy pointed the camera at me, I posed. It was very funny.
Karl is a member of the LARP called NERO (New England Roleplaying Organization). Here, he is showing a few boys a little bit of swordplay.
